The complainant, a woman from Neriamangalam, claims that Pauly assaulted her in Dubai in November 2023, under the pretense of offering her a movie role. The case has been officially registered in Ernakulam, Kerala, and includes charges against Pauly and five others, all of whom are facing non-bailable offenses. Police sources have indicated that there are six accused in total, suggesting a broader conspiracy behind the incident.

Police sources have identified six individuals accused in this case, with Sreya named as the primary accused, followed by producer AK Sunil, Binu, Basheer, Kuttan, and Nivin Pauly as the sixth accused. The complainant initially reached out to Sreya after being promised a job as a caregiver in Europe, but when the job offer fell through, she demanded her money back. At that point, Sreya allegedly enticed her with a movie role instead. According to the complainant, she was drugged and sexually assaulted in multiple incidents involving all six accused, which allegedly took place in Dubai last November.

The woman filed her complaint with the Special Investigation Team (SIT), which was formed in response to the Hema Committee report highlighting sexual misconduct in the film industry. The SIT alerted the Oonnukal police, prompting the registration of a case.
