NIRF Rankings 2024 Announcement: IIT Madras Tops Overall Category Once Again

The NIRF Rankings 2024 have been officially announced by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on August 12, 2024. The rankings, now available on the NIRF’s official website, nirfindia.org, cover 16 different categories, including three new ones: state, skill, and open universities. The announcement occurred at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, with Minister of State for Education Sukanto Majumdar and other dignitaries in attendance.

Top Performers in NIRF Rankings 2024

In the overall category, IIT Madras has once again secured the top spot, followed by IISc Bengaluru and IIT Bombay in second and third places, respectively. IIT Madras also leads the engineering category, with IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay following closely behind. AIIMS Delhi continues to dominate in the medical category, with PGIMER Chandigarh and Christian Medical College, Vellore, taking the second and third positions, respectively.

Ranking Methodology

The rankings were determined using a methodology developed by a Core Committee established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The key parameters for ranking include teaching, learning, resources, research and professional practice, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, and perception.
