Cyclone Biparjoy Live: IMD Reports Landfall Process with Wind Velocity of 115-125 kmph Continuing Till Midnight

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that the landfall process of Cyclone Biparjoy has commenced in the Saurashtra and Kutch regions of Gujarat and will persist until midnight. The cyclone is projected to cross the coasts of Saurashtra, Kutch, and adjoining Pakistan between Mandvi (Gujarat) and Karachi (Pakistan) near Jakhau Port (Gujarat) by tonight. Today’s Forecast: Expecting light to moderate rainfall in Kachchh, Devbhumi Dwarka & Jamnagar areas, while Porbandar, Rajkot, Morbi, and Junagarh districts of Gujarat are likely to experience heavy showers. The IMD’s latest bulletin indicates the likelihood of isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall in the remaining districts of Saurashtra and the north Gujarat region.

☔ Precautionary Measures: The Gujarat government has already relocated over 94,000 individuals residing in eight coastal districts to temporary shelters. Prohibitory orders have been issued, public transport has been suspended, and people have been advised to stay indoors.

The deployment of two teams each from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has been initiated in Gujarat. Furthermore, the Army and Indian Air Force have standby teams ready for assistance.
