Arvind Kejriwal was questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) at Tihar jail on Tuesday. Following this interrogation, he was officially arrested by the agency in connection with the excise policy case. On June 25, the Delhi High Court put a hold on the trial court’s decision to grant bail to Kejriwal, responding to the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) plea to stay the order in the excise policy money laundering case. On Wednesday, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court ordered Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to be held in CBI custody for three days in connection with the alleged liquor policy scam.
Arrest and CBI Custody Request
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Kejriwal earlier in the day and requested a five-day custody period to further investigate the case. During the court hearing, the CBI argued that they needed Kejriwal’s custody to confront him with other accused individuals and to review pertinent documents.
